Fun with "F"

We did more than a few fun things in our "F" 2 weeks - take a look!

Madison did her country project on Finland, and her animal study on flamingos.

We also took these neat drawing books out of the library and Nana, Madison, and I tried our hand at drawing frogs using only ovals:

And then tried drawing fish using only triangles:

We read books about frogs:

And the food groups:

We played with friends:

And family, too:

We cleaned out the fridge (long overdue!):

Jacob "flew":

So did Madison on the flying fox:

We admired many spring flowers:

The kids played the fishing game:

This was our learning area decoration:

We got creative making fireworks:

And fuzzy "F"s:
And fancy feathery fishes:

I organized a tour of the local fire station:

Jacob even fingerpainted:

And he played with felt sets:

We ate at an "F" restaurant:

I had the privilege of fawning over a friend's new babe (and the challenge of taking flash-free indoor pics!):

Jacob played with his Fisher Price farm:

And has been loving his funny face magnet sets on the fridge:

A neighbour gave us halibut fillets, so we ate fish for dinner:

"E" enjoyed!

We had to get creative for "E" but we did it and had fun in the process. Mads did an "Egypt" project and an "eagle" project, as well as all of her Enchanted Learning "E" worksheets. We also:

Checked elephant books out of the library:

Made an "E" elephant craft:

Checked eagle books out of the library:

Kiddos were elated by the end-to-spring-break snowfall:

Saw an enormous python at a free mall-sponsored safari show:

Visited Englishman River Falls Park:

Jacob was enamoured by a tunnel:

Mads enjoyed some crazy time with a friend:

Jacob got an electric blue hair-do:

Rockin' the 'do at the playground:

Madison's eyes:

Another "E" craft (eggshells):

Baked cookies for a meet-up that we went to (English Bay brand of dough, of course!):

Etc. :)

"E" Week 1

"E" week has proved more challenging than our previous weeks, but we are managing to find "E" adventures to EXPLORE!

I love this picture of Madison. Her and I were waiting for someone outside a meeting, I was trying to shoot some up close photos of flowers and she got goofy so I just held my camera out and held down the button. Click.click.click. Looking back afterward, I just loved the candids I somehow captured - it is just Madison's full-of-life spirit and energy and laughter:

On a visit to Nana and Grandad's, we had a dance party to Elvis music (slow and fast songs!):

I baked up some eggplant for dinner one night:

I brought the easel upstairs for some painting exploration. The kids loved it! This easel is neat since the height is adjustable for Mads or Jacob:

A photo of the entrance to Nana and Grandad's Qualicum Beach community:

An eagle sighting at their local beach:

More EXCITING "E" adventures to come this week!

Easing into "E"

"E" is our first challenging letter - our list of ideas in our A-Z notebook is not half as long as previous weeks, but we will do our best!

Here was Mads "expending energy" at a gymnastics party!
