Can't keep up with our craziness!

"C" week carries on (wait, it is only Monday?)...

Mads chose this as her tattoo from the library:

She was long overdue for a haircut, so we treated her to "the package" at a super-fun children's hair salon:

Tada! Glitter, curls, bead braid - what more could a little girl ask for? Oh, and mama used a coupon, too! The salon is at this mall:

Today we played board games in the afternoon, including these "C" four that we have:

While at the mall, we made sure to grab the latest "Coffee News" since we like to have a contest and all do the "Find the Differences" comic at the same time:

Since Nana and Grandad left last week, we have been cutting links off of our countdown chain to count the 'sleeps' left until they come home from their California church trip:

Tonight at M's science class, this was the theme (perfect for our "C" week, eh?):

Yesterday, Jacob ate cake at a party:

For the last few days, Mads has been choosing her cowgirl boots to wear out and about:

More to come!

"C" continued...

The rest of week #1 with "C":

Madison continued her studies and canvas creation in art class, learning about Marc Chagall:

She decided that it would be a fun idea to sleep for one night in her closet, so we indulged her idea, and sure enough, soon after bedtime, found her here:

We went for dinner to the "Chalet" for chicken, since on Daddy's new diet, his choices are limited!

While there, Mads reminded me that crayons start with "C":

We went on a family outing to Colliery Dams Park (connects to Chase River). The trails are surrounded by cedar trees. Jacob found a creepy crawly, as Mads called it:

Can't see "Wormy", as Jacob named it? Look at this close-up:

Fabulous bridges at this park, here is Mads on one of them:

For church, Madison chose a cherry red dress:

and Jacob wore..... checkered?

We had a lovely morning (OK, a few hours) of sunshine, so I took the kids to a small creek down the road from our house:

Jacob and I baked carrot muffins:

we ate chocolate chip pancakes:

created caterpillar crafts:

visited an old church just out of town:

read tons of books as always, here are a few of J's library "C" books:

The kiddos did some "C" worksheets:

I arranged a homelearner tour to the local City Hall (we met the Mayor and councillors!):

This is our decor for the 2 weeks of "C" - CDs, of course:

We also danced crazy to "Crocodile Dock" songs and Madison did a research project about camels.

...to be continued!

"C" so far!

Only Tuesday, but already in our "C" weeks, we have eaten cucumbers, celery, caesar salad, crackers, and cheese! Mads has had a few classes already this week, too!

We did a "C" craft - colourful crayon "C"s:

Jacob has a new love for our cold packs - he invents new "boo-boos" so that he can get them out of the freezer and onto his skin:

Today, the kids worked on a "Cars" book - J. coloured, and M. did the crossword puzzle:

J lined up most (yup, not all) of his construction vehicles. He loves them and plays with them for hours upon hours each day:

On Sunday, we picked up Madison's completed clay creations from her pottery class that she has done for the past month - an igloo, a castle, a mug, and a bowl:

Lots more fun planned for the days of "C"!

Buh-bye "B"!

A little late on this one as my laptop is dying a slow and unpredictable death.

Yesterday marked the end of a full "B" 2 weeks.

As a recap to our fun, let's start with those I don't have photos of...

We blew bubbles outside, ate blueberries and bananas, bought something, went to Beban Pool, continued a bottle drive for a young man here with cancer (we have collected about 20 big garbage bags full!), played badminton, Mads rode her bike, we ate burgers, visited the bank, bought bug stamps from the post office, Jacob watched lots of "Bob the Builder" DVDs from the library, listened to music played on the banjo by our favourite librarian, Mads did a "bat" research project, we wrote an alliteration sentence for "B" and...

ate buttermilk pancakes with blueberry sauce and bananas on top:

Jacob did beading with Nana and made me a lovely necklace to wear "forever," he said:

Mads wore braids to church (keep in mind I took the pic at the very end of the day, and here she is bent over an intense game of "Boy-Girl"!):

the kids and I found an awesome old boat (called the Benjamin Daniel!) tucked back off of the road:

and as always, our life was led by the Bible:
