"H" continues...

This week Mads and Warren finished "Husky in a Hut" in their nightly book series, Mads did projects on "Haiti" and "Hippos", lots of fun "H" worksheets, and went to Hip Hop dance class. Jacob's library storytime this week even had the theme of "Houses and Homes"!

Life is a hoot in our home in the Hammond Bay area of the Hub city when:

We drive around in our "Happy Honda Odyssey". I always laugh and say that we are homelearners but never home!:

We watched a few of the Herbie movies:

The kiddos did some hill-rolling:

We found a heart-shaped rock:

We played a few games of Harvest Time:

Mads pulled out the three "H" books from our Value Book series:

She also stacked up all of her library chapter books (123!) in a HUGE pile:

She learned HOW to fish at a 4 hour Parks-taught Sunday event:

As a very rare lunch, we ate hotdogs!:

Mads and Warren watched a horse movie and then sketched a horse:

One warm evening, we had a game of street hockey (complete with helmets!):

Oh, and with the playoffs on, Warren (and kids) have been watching hockey, too:

Of course, we read lots of "H" library books:

Jacob was my helper in the kitchen (he loves to bake!):

We organized a homelearner helicopter tour:

Mads and Jacob did a hairy "H" craft:

Jacob went days begging for us to 'make a HazMat truck'. I tried putting him off, hoping he'd forget but no-go. Eventually, this is what we (translation: I) created, and he still plays with it, days later! He filled it with Playmobil little tools and fire extinguishers and helmets:

Mads did a fun thrift-store found workbook on Hawaii:

We took the bus to the Harbourfront library location and found this book:

The kids and I took a trip to the local Habitat for Humanity location - wandered round, donated something to the Re-Store, chatted about what the organization does, and even met a man who works there whose family lives in a Habitat house now!:

Happy times!
