"I" ends.

For the rest of "I" week, we ate international foods (tacos, curry, lamb pitas); Madison's phonics book focused on inventors as a theme; we drove the Island Highway A LOT; and we...

Played "I Spy BINGO":

Mads did her projects on Iceland and iguanas:

We watched "instant insects" hatch:

Insects instantly emerged!

We drank iced tea:

Baked icebox cookies:

Jacob and I read these "I Spy" books:

Jacob was inventive with drawing train tracks for the train he had just cut and glued:

The kids glued inuksuk pictures, and Mads was wearing her insect t-shirt when she posed:

Mads and I played "Double Take" - a fun memory card game about insects:

We watched DVDs about insects:

Read books about them:

May 5 happened this week, so we found this book and talked about when a country gets their independence, and celebrates the date each year:

The kiddos turned into climbing imps:

Mads pulled her best imagination pose:

An interesting craft was sugar cube igloos:

Mads did a book report about the book "Ice Wreck":

We learned more about icebergs by making our own:

Here are the books Mads used for her research projects:

And more "I" library books. We had fun learning Italian words and seeing how similar many of them are to our English words:

Life on our Island was fun and full of learning as always!
