My Madison

Our firstborn is Madison. She loves noodles and bagels, horses and dogs, her friends and family, learning and laughing.

These recent photos of Madison show her love for life best, I think!

More "M" madness

This last "M" week was cut short by a marvelous family camping trip that we wouldn't have traded for the moon! Jacob visited Mars in one of his many imaginary missions, we drank mango smoothies, visited a market, and saw many mountains.

Even with a short week, we managed to:

Visit the museum and look at maps:

Make mud soup in a magical forest:

Many messy children made a Michael's craft:

Eat at McDonald's:

Read "M" books from our collection:

And from the library:

Madison and Jacob wore matching shirts:

We roasted marshmallows:

Ate Mars bars:

Saw another marina:

Went to a magic show:

Met friends at Maffeo-Sutton Park:

And munched on snacks while there:

Mads made me a magnetic mosaic:

Played with a friend named Mattias:

Saw marigolds:

Played mini-golf:

Went to an awesome heritage museum:

We didn't play Marbleworks, Magnadoodle, Monopoly, Max, or Magnetix, or even visit Milner Gardens, as we had hoped! Mads and I are still going to do our projects on "Monkeys" and "Mali" though!

Mighty "M"

For this first week of "M", we ate mustard, maple syrup, mango, and made muffins and milkshakes. We listened to Mozart, Mahler, and Mendehlsson music. We drove or walked on roads with names like Mallard, Morningstar, Metral, and Malaspina. One day on the highway, we looked around and saw vehicles makes of Mustang, Mazda MPV, and Matrix! Jacob watched his favourite DVD series of "Mighty Machines", and Mads and I finally watched "High School Musical" and danced along to all of the music. Madison finished up her art class where they were learning about the artist named Morriseau and we:

Did some marble painting here at home:

We went to the mall for a show:

Grandad took the kids to the marina:

We went to a fire station open house where Jacob marveled at the size of the wheels on the firetrucks:

We saw a lineup of masks:

And Madison found a locker with an "M" name:

We made marble-painted "M" crafts:

Watched "M" movies:

And worked on "M" worksheets:

More to come!

"L" lived and loved.

For the rest of our "L" time, we were busy! We received a lighthouse postcard, lay low for a day to fight off sniffles, Mads worked on her "L" worksheets, we all watched a "Lassie" movie that starred Lawford and Lockhart, watched "The Love Bug", Mads took skating lessons at the local leisure centre, we did our project about "Lions", went to two new libraries, visited Lantzville, sadly had to say goodbye to Mads riding Lyric for awhile, and:

Made a line-up of Littlest Pet Shop toys:

Played at Long Lake:
Saw some llamas:

Read these books for our project:

Grandad spoiled the kiddos with a line-up of little cereals to choose from:

Saw Nana's lovely lilies in her garden:

Attended a grand opening celebration for a local garden where Jacob painted with lilac:

And Mads painted a ladybug rock:

Madison gave her brother a 'leg-up':

Read some more "L" books found at the library:

Jacob cut the grass with his lawnmower:

Grandad bought a new lawnmower:

And Jacob and a new friend loved the lawnmower box:

We weeded around our huge lavender bush:

Madison read this book during church (she reads it every single week!):

They both worked hard on making lanterns:

Mads climbed a ladder:

And so, Jacob did too:

In all of the 2 weeks, we didn't play LEGO or do any lacing!!! Can you believe it?
