In our first week of "R", we tried some new recipes, endured a rare summer's day of rain, listened to rock and roll music, saw raptors (eagles and hawks), listened to the radio, drove on Rutherford Road and Renee Place, started a bible lesson about Ruth and Naomi, and Mads had a riding lesson.
We pulled out the racetrack toy:

Painted some rainbow canvases:

Jacob ate his favourite morning snack of raisin bread:

The kiddos chose raspberry body butter for church this week:
We read "R" library books:

They made red, ridged "R" paper plate crafts for our wall:

I brought out the recorder.... (and then asked myself "why?"):

In Parksville, we discovered a garden full of red flowers:

Nana became a redhead:

We saw Dr. Reed:

The three of us cleaned out the refrigerator:

Jacob relaxed in Nana and Grandad's reclining deck chair:

The highlight of our week was having a family reunion with some of our relatives:
The littles rested, played, ate, and ran around:

While the bigs played Rounders:

Our favourite car snack continued to be rice cakes:

We made rice krispie treats to bring to dinner at a friend's:

I also made ricotta cheesecake topped with raspberry-cranberry sauce:

Thanks to Grandad, we listened to some "R" classical music, and even recognized some of it!

Friends up from Victoria invited us to their RV resort for an evening of roasting marshmallows...

...and riding bikes:
Madison joined Jacob and I this week when we made robin crafts:

During church, Jacob worked on a rocket pattern:

We returned to the beach where we found rocks:

Madison tried her hand at building a rock structure:

Nana and Mads threw rocks into the ocean and watched them ricochet off of bigger rocks (or just ripple in the water):

We found a wild rose plant on one of our walks:

At the end of the week, Madison and I picked up Warren's race package from here:
